"But I don't want to go among mad people," Alice remarked. "Oh, you can't help that," said the Cat: "we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."
"How do you know I'm mad?" said Alice. "You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

No cookie for you!

I mean me. You have probably been a good girl or boy or whatever.

Has it really been over a week since I last posted? Gee, I guess I have absolutely no right to bitch and moan about the rest of you slackers who mock me with your non-posty-ness. Thank the stars above for bettika and Scalzi.

So, mainly the reason I haven't written is because there is nothing new or interesting to write about. The kitchen cabinets that aren't working are still not working, but we have a plan. Oh yes, we have a plan, but it involves a saw and all the dust that that implies. We are waiting for this weekend and keeping our fingers crossed that the weather is a spectacularly gorgeous as it has been for the last three days. Then, we are trimming the recalcitrant doors just a smidge (technical carpentry term, there) and putting them back up. They will work, because I simply cannot face any other option.

An XM ON Broadway aside: Mandy Patinkin really isn't well cast as Professor Harold Hill. I'm just sayin'.

Ah yes, the weather. Spring appears to have finally arrived. Nearly all the snow has melted, it is 6 pm and I can expect at least another hour before the sun sets, and a bird is singing its heart out just outside my OPEN window. It would be perfect bliss if I was only having a glass of wine, but I am off the booze for the next couple of weeks. Because my ass is approaching huge. Just in time for Spring. Sheesh.

So, a tiny bit of diet and a whole lot of exercise and significantly less alcohol. But in the not-so-distant future is boats, and swimsuits and tanned legs and arms and sun, sun, sun! It's all good.

And now, off to finish The Ghost Brigades. Not only does Scalzi entertain me while I am on the internets, he joins me in the bathtub. Or something. I wonder if Annika would be interested in joining me, too?

Oh my, a bath does sound good.

Mandy Patinkin is my favorite ever, but he is a ridiculous choice for Prof. Hill. Ridiculous.

Really? I would think he could pull it off. But then, I've seen some truly awful Harold Hills, so maybe my standards have lowered.
